Iceland Itinerary
I am looking forward to my upcoming trip to Iceland. I was able to spend just about 24 hours in Iceland in February of 2018 due to an unexpected stop over on my way back from Ireland. To see Iceland properly this time I booked an excursion to Iceland for a couple days with Viking Ocean Cruises. I will be writing a review of this guided trip to the beautiful land that is Iceland after the trip. For now I just wanted to quickly share my rough yet finalized schedule for what I will be seeing and what you all can expect to hear about and see from me this summer in Iceland. I will be visiting Iceland in early July.
Itinerary
Day 1 I will fly in and transfer into Reykjavik. From there I will meet my host from Viking Cruises. After getting checked in I will spend the rest of my day exploring downtown Reykjavik and seeing all that it has to offer.

Northern Lights captured from IcelandAir.
On my second day I will be heading out on a scenic drive to the beautiful Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving Thingvellir, I will continue to the Geysir hot spring area. There I will enjoy hissing springs and other natural geothermal phenomena. In the Afternoon I will then visit the Gullfoss waterfall. The Golden Falls is the most famous of Iceland’s many. Next, it’s on to the Kerid Crater, one of Iceland’s more dramatic craters.
Day three 3 will bring me to the world famous Blue Lagoon. Located on a rugged lava field just outside Reykjavik, this natural geothermal spa has a water temperature of 98 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit (36 to 40 degrees Celsius). Mineral rich, the Blue Lagoon is rumored to have healing properties. Maybe it’s the fountain of youth! We will have to see! With its cool blue waters and the lava rock walls it will sure be a wonderful place to relax for the afternoon. Once my soak is over I will head back to Reykjavik for lunch before spending the afternoon on a guided tour of Reykjavik.
Day 4 will see my final day in Iceland for this trip. I hope to see as much of the beauty this country has to offer before I must make it to the airport to catch my flight back to the United States.
