Our first trip as a couple just finished up. We traveled to Paris, France with my Girlfriend, Kamlyn. It was her first trip to Europe! We stayed very close to the Eiffel Tower. It was good to be staying in a very central location, close to all that we wanted to see.

The two of us flew direct into Paris. It was pleasant to fly direct. Usually to get to my destinations or to save money I don’t fly direct. I usually connect through Reykjavík, Iceland or London, England before connecting to my destination.

We tried another first and got the Paris Pass. Using the included metro ticket to get around the city. When we weren’t taking the metro, we took rent-able electric scooters. They’re all over the city and you can unlock them with one of several apps on your phone.

On the first day we made our way around the city catching some of the sights.

Day two we set out early and found a wonderful little café for breakfast. Then lunch in the Eiffel Tower before heading off to the Louvre museum. Day three we headed off to Versailles. Taking the Metro from near the Eiffel Tower we headed for the Palace. Kamlyn was especially excited for this stop as she had studied Versailles in her AP Euro class back in High School. For dinner, I exposed her to French dinner cuisine for the first time, before this we had eaten dinner at a Romanian Restaurant and an Italian place. Her first impression wasn’t good. She told me it was her least favorite of the three nights so far. I went for an old favorite starter of mine however and got Escargot.

We then wandered around near the Eiffel Tower people watching. Day four started with another breakfast at our new favorite café before we headed off to Hotel Invalids. Here we saw the tomb of Napoleon and then visited the Army Museum. After this we headed off to Notre Dame Cathedral. Day 5 (New Year’s Eve!) brought us to a French Post office to mail home postcards. Then we found our way to the Hop on Hop off bus tour. WE took both routes around the city to catch all the sights. Afterwards we headed over to the Arc de Triomphe. We watched the gathering yellow vest protesters and got a prime spot for the New Years Eve festivities. However, we quickly decided that if anything was to happen we wanted to be closer to our hotel. As a result, we headed back over to the Eiffel Tower on the Hop on Hop off Bus. We then found a nice quiet restaurant near Invalids to have our late New Years Eve dinner before heading over to get our bottle of Champagne to enjoy under the lights of the Eiffel Tower.

After New Years we took a train to Disneyland Paris. Checking into the Vienna Dream Castle Hotel we enjoyed a quick lunch before heading off to Disneyland. Disneyland Paris was an awesome place to visit as a couple. Disneyland Paris was Kamlyn’s Idea and it was amazing! I’m so glad that she reintroduced me to the Magic of Disney. I hadn’t been to a Disney park in almost a decade!

Overall it’s been one of my favorite trips ever! I can’t believe how much fun it was. Showing Kamlyn Europe for the first time and traveling for the first time as a couple. I can’t wait to see the rest of the world with her!
